Jamie "The Toolman" Williams

As some of you may know, we are replacing the flooring throughout the majority of our house. It all started when we figured out part of our subfloor was basically rotting due to the French doors not being installed correctly and several years of having no gutters on our house for protection. So, simple, we get the subfloor fixed, right? But then we figured out the doors had mold in them and we needed new doors. And THEN I decided I didn't want to put our nasty carpet back down on the new subfloor. And so on and so on until Jamie decided we should replace the carpet in our living room/foyer with hard wood laminate...and he's laying it himself. :) This seemed like and o.k. idea to begin with...but after a week of the following, I'm getting a little concerned.
This is what our living room looked like on Monday when I got home from work...what you can't tell is that he had already pulled up half of the carpet and just laid it back down.

The rest are as the week progressed...he's pulling staples out of the floor.

Luckily we haven't had any "toolman" sized accidents or injuries. Just some minor bleeding. Ha! Jamie is finishing up the last of the extra layer of plywood (which we have to put down to even out the level of the floor from the foyer to the living room). So I guess tomorrow we will start installing the actual planks...Wahoo! (Whose idea was this again???) Hopefully soon you will be seeing pictures of our FINISHED floor! Yay!

Vaction #1

Well, this year I am lucky enough to get to go on two beach trips! The first was a trip with Jamie's family and some church friends to Gulf Shores. We actually stayed in Ft. Morgan (which is about 15 minutes from Gulf Shores). Despite the fact that I am apparently HORRIBLE at putting on sunscreen - I had stripes of sunburn! - we had a good trip. Here are some pics...

I love that you can see the pelicans and seagulls.

You can tell this was the first day we were there because my arms look pale. Ha!

Outside of Ribs 'n Reds - home the biggest rack of ribs I think I've ever seen. They were pretty good though!

I didn't put in any quarters...

These are pictures from our photo session...as you can tell part of it was semi-illegal. Ha!

Stay tuned for more to come...

I gave in...

Well, I still don't think I really have anything to blog about...but I guess I just felt left out, because, here I am - blogging! All I know is prepare for some random pictures, posts and events...brought to you by Savannah, TN! :)
